Changes

NOMA performs laboratory quality control of medicines.

National control

NOMA conducts analysis of medicines on behalf of RELIS, the Directorate of Health, doctors, pharmacies, the Customs Service and the Police. On behalf of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, NOMA can analyze dietary supplements when there is suspicion of illegal addition of medicines.

Information on how to report adverse reaction to medicines and vaccines can be found here: How do I report suspected adverse reactions after taking medicines or vaccines?

Internationally

NOMA contributes to drug control in the EU/EEA through the mutual exchange of samples and professional collaboration with other official medical control laboratories (OMCL network). The OMCL network contributes to utilization of the analytical capacity for laboratory quality control.

Further information on the OMCL network can be found in the brochure “The European Network of Medicines Control Laboratories (OMCL)
