Terms in Medicinal Product Basic Data

Referentials and medicinal product master data = Kodeverk

"Kodeverk" is used as a collective term for lists of terms that are included in the Medicinal product master data delivered from NoMA via the FEST message and FHIR API. All terms are supplied with one or more IDs based on the origin and ownership of the term. Terms that cannot be identified in international databases are undesirable.

SPOR and Standard Terms (ST) are the basis for medicinal product master data at NoMA. See also: DMP and Medicinal Data - SPOR.

EDQM owns Standard Terms, and there is cooperation with EMA whereby updated terms from ST are transferred to the RMS lists. See also: NLS for Standard Terms.

NoMA and translations

NoMA follows the structure from SPOR in our solutions, and some code lists are provided in both Norwegian and English. NoMA has a procedure on how translations from English to Norwegian are to be performed, which is based on the Norwegian language, following guidelines from the Norwegian Language Council and Norwegian orthography. There is an effort to ensure that identical terms in different code lists have the same translation; e.g., the substance and all or part of the ATC term should be identical. The language used by EMA is British English, which is the basis for translations into Norwegian — note that there may be differences between British and US English

A procedure has been developed for how NoMA translates terms. This follows the Norwegian language and has been established in both Norwegian and English; see document below for English.

The first column describes the basis for the change, the second column describes how it is changed into Norwegian. Columns three and four show the English and Norwegian terms, respectively.
