System providers must ensure that the system always uses the latest version of FEST. NOMA recommends a solution that automatically checks for updates to FEST every night, ensuring that the system is always up to date.

    Manual download of FEST

    If FEST is downloaded manually, it should be updated before the 1st and 15th of each month. Please note that there may be extraordinary publications of the FEST file. To stay updated on such changes, we recommend subscribing to operational notifications by sending an email to fest@dmp.no.

    Webservice

    To download FEST from Webservice, you need a program/application adapted for FEST downloads. The URL links below are the addresses where you can retrieve FEST from Webservice, either on the Norwegian Health Network or the internet.

    Norwegian Health Network

    On the Norwegian Health Network, you can download FEST through a new (wcf-service) and an old service. It is recommended to use the new service for downloading FEST as it supports form validation and requires less memory for download.

    Important information!

    As of August 30, 2023, FEST files for Farmalogg and NAV/HELFO will no longer be available for open download from the internet.

    The recipient must have a certificate for identification, and this must be verified by NOMA. The reason for this is that these extracts contain confidential H-prescription refund prices.

    The other extracts will not be affected by this change and can be downloaded as before the change.

    Dates for updating FEST and SAFEST

    Starting from August 15, 2022, NOMA also publishes SAFEST data in the FHIR interface in parallel with FEST. The table below shows an overview of the publication dates for regular updates of FEST and SAFEST (publishing date) that apply to subsequent product updates in pharmacies on the 1st and 15th of each month. Additionally, the date when FEST is available for testing in staging is displayed. Addresses for staging can be found in the Technical Interface Documentation (PDF).

    Note that there might be extraordinary updates, for example, due to security alerts or errors in FEST.
